Return To Sender

Hello! Bonjour! Ciao! Guten Tag! Ahoj!

I'm back!

Ok. I have actually been back since Friday, but I always forget how incredibly lazy I am, and the thought of typing and uploading photos when I could instead be doing something more amazing - like sleeping until 4pm - stressed me out. But today I am back at work (boo hiss boo), and so I am back to blogging about inane things in an attempt to pass the long hours that I have to sit at this desk and book appointments for diabetics (my job is, like, so cool).

However, in a giant fail on my part, I do not have any of my holiday photos on my work computer, so I shall have to post them tonight. I warn you now - there are thousands. Literally. I took over 5000 photos in 17 days. I took 1500 photos just in Rome, for goodness sake. I did get a little bit carried away. The silly thing is, almost every photo is the same - I am alarmingly obsessed with European architecture, so every building I was like ohmygosh! Balconies! Doorways! Elaborate cornices! PHOTO. So I will select some of my favourite ones to post from the many places that I visited.

Have I mentioned yet how amazing this holiday was? The places I saw and the people I met...it was just fabulous. Venice was my very favourite place, but I absolutely fell in love with Rome; I will definitely be returning there soon. And of course Berlin holds a dear place in my heart - I adore it there.

Coming back after almost three weeks though, and I feel as though I have missed so much! Like the new Gossip Girl trailer - WOW. And Frankie and the Heartstrings releasing limited edition fanclub memberships - I failed to get one of these, GOD DAMN IT. You know, important stuff like that. How tragic that being away from a computer for days at a time can mean that huge gaps open in my life. Oh dear, oh dear.

I really must stop rambling now. I find it impossible to believe that people are really interested in how many photos I took of Roman window frames or how pathetic I am for actually missing the internet. But I suppose, dear reader, whoever you are, that you don't mind so much, or you wouldn't have gotten this far.
xo

P.S. I know how pre-pubescent fangirl this is going to sound, but wowohmygodwow how beautiful does Robert Pattinson look in these photos? Oh myyyy heaaarrtt. I can't help myself.

Guten Tag

Here I am in Berlin, coming towards the end of my travels, and I am so, so tired. However, instead of going to bed like the wild party animal I really am, I thought that I would take a casual stroll out into the fair night and use the internet. I believe that I promised Twitter updates of my journey across Europe, but unbeknowsnt to me before I set off, my phone doesn't connect to the internet abroad, so I have had to wait for an ACTUAL COMPUTER to become available to me for me to network socially. How backward is that?

Anyway. So here I am in Berlin, one of my favourite FAVOURITE cities in the whole wide world. Today we had a little driving tour of the city with the group, and made a stop at the Berlin wall, which I did not see on my last trip here.
Being back in Berlin gave me such a buzz - there is something so stunning, so epic about this city that even looking at it through a rain-splashed bus window gives me good vibes. I adore it. Tomorrow I am going to embark upon a Third Reich walking tour of the city to see some of the history of WW2, and then I have a free day to explore a little more. And then tomorrow night it is par tay time.

I can't believe how fast this trip has gone - on Tuesday we will set off for Amsterdam for two nights, and then it's back to merry old England and HOME. I really cannot wait to get home again and to sleep in a comfy bed and to have a shower available whenever I want it and to have clean clothes and a dry towel and to be able to sit inside when I am eating my dinner, but at the same time this has been such a grand experience, and I have seen places that I have always wanted to see - l
ike Prague, where I was yesterday. It is one of the most beautiful cities that I have ever seen - the architecture is absolutely mind-blowing. I have a penchant for European architecture, so seeing Prague was one of the things that I was most looking forward to about this holiday.

I have been taking quite literally thousands of photos, so expect a series of long, long posts when I return home, but for now I will bid you farewell, until I once again reach the sunny shores of my great land, England, and Yorkshire, and Home.

Auf Wiedersehen!

Venezia

Greetings from beautiful Venice!

I am almost a week into my 17 day trip, and I have finally found a few moments to come onto the internet and have a bit of a type away.

My brother and I spent the first few days in Rome, exploring what seems like every single inch of it. It is simply incredible - SO stunning. And we of course went in to the Vatican and saw the Sistine Chapel, which has made my life absolutely complete. It is beautiful, beautiful. I was breathless, it was so beautiful.

Then we joined onto the group trip that crawls across Europe, and so far have seen Verona (ohmygosh, perfection!) and VENICE, which is the lovliest place that I have ever seen in my ENTIRE LIFE. I could not believe how perfect it was! I could have cried, it was so pretty.

Time is running out now, so I must go. I return home on the 20th, so I bid you farewell until then (that is unless I get too tired to party and crank up the internet instead.)

Ciao!

See you later, crocodile.

In exactly eight hours time I will be at the train station, ready to begin my travels! Thus there will be no blogging for the next 17 days (boo hiss).

However, if you are in any small way interested in what I am getting up to as I make my way across Italy, Austria, Germany and Holland, do feel free to follow me on Twitter, as I am intending to post sporadic updates of my whereabouts (e.g. 'I'M IN ROME, IT'S HOT').

Ta-ta!

Yorkshire Vibe #3 - Actual Yorkshire Day

Today was actual Yorkshire Day - a celebration of what I believe to be the greatest county in our fair country, and also one of the loveliest places in the world.

To celebrate, my parents and I went and did Yorkshire things, like what us Yorkshire folk usually do, only I was a lot more excited than usual about it (in case you haven't gathered, I am insanely patriotic about both my country and my home county).

We looked at old, ruined castles.
We walked down forrest paths. We looked at flowers and plants and stuff. (This place is Yorkshire Lavender, near York, and as you can see, there is a lot of lavender. It smells sort of like Heaven). We fed deer. And we saw a fake cricket match. I don't know who designed and built this, but each 'person' is made of solid steel and are slightly bigger than life size - it's at the top of a hill and from a distance it looks like a real cricket match.I LOVE YORKSHIRE!

Live Long and Prosper

Today's favourite: Zachary Quinto
That lovely dark hair. Those lovely dark eyes. That very lovely tight shirt he wears throughout Star Trek.
And you know how much I love a man wearing glasses.
Woah. AND A CARDIGAN. Excuse me, please. I need to go and have a lie down.
