26 Things

Today I discovered shift.org (through Nylon site of the day again), which is a site dedicated entirely to getting people to integrate photography into their everyday lives. Basically they come up with the ideas and then people send in their photos from the ideas, the links to which get displayed on the website. A upcoming project is A Day in the Life, which invites people to photograph their New Year's Eve or New Year's Day as it progresses.
But my favourite project that they run every six months or so is 26 Things, where they provide a list of, obviously, 26 ideas for people to photograph. It is such a cool way to get people to think more alternatively about not just photography, but also the surrounding world. I am definitely going to have a go at this myself (even though I missed the deadline to enter the most recent round).
Below is the latest list that they posted:
1. Tall
2. Amazing
3. Round
4. Hidden
5. Green
6. An animal
7. Dirty
8. Early
9. Weather
10. An arrow
11. Curve
12. Tomorrow
13. Inside
14. A ceiling
15. Watch out
16. Key
17. Reflection
18. Track
19. Framed
20. Busy
21. Strange
22. Upside down
23. Spots
24. Shoes
25. Weathered
26. Sunday morning
If you end up having a go at this yourself, please do send me the link to your photos. I love stuff like this.

  1. What a brilliant idea! I think I might do the photo an hour challenge too, might have to be on New Years Day though as not sure I trust myself with the good camera on NYE! Sally x

  2. Ah, the 'A day in the life' is awesome. I did it before and NYE sounds like the perfect reason to try again!
