I Can't Do Faces

The other day I mentioned that this week I was starting a life drawing course. Well, last night was the first session of the ten week course, and I have to say that it was absolutely wonderful. It was just so relaxing, sitting there with classical music playing, surrounded by like-minded people who were all there to just escape for a couple of hours, to loosen up and to be a bit more creative than most people's lives generally allow.

There was about 12 or 13 people on the course, and most of them had been going for a long time. A few of them were incredible artists to prove it; the guy I was sat next to was heartbreakingly good - I definitely will not be sitting next to him next week. He put everyone to shame. But there were a couple of other girls who, like me, had never done any life drawing before whatsoever.

I think, for a first attempt, I didn't do too badly.Quite hilariously, today me and my mum went to buy a sandwich near work, and the guy who served us was the model that I drew. I almost died from trying to keep a straight face - very mature and artistic of me, I know.

  1. Ahha, your story about seeing your naked guy again made me laugh. :)
I'm doing life drawing again soon on the second half of my art foundation course and I can't wait.

  2. Wow, well done. If this is only your first week, that is amazingly well done (I went to art school for four years and was HOPELESS at drawing, so I am truly impressed)
